The crooked path

“Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence”        Henry David Thoreau

This pages is dedicated to the crooked path, to following your joy wherever it takes you…..
I hope to fill it with lots of words, poetry, quotes and sharing. Please be patient while I work on it xx

Excerpt from the introduction to Weight The Myth of Atlas and Heracles by Jeanette Winterson

The myth series is a marvellous way of telling stories – retelling stories for their own sakes, and finding in them permanent truths about human nature. All we can do is keep telling the stories, hoping someone will hear.  Hoping that in the noisy echoing nightmare of endlessly breaking news and celebrity gossip, other voices might be heard, speaking of the life of the mind, and the soul’s journey.

Yes, I want to tell the story again.

Mountain thoughts by John Muir

Here is a calm so deep, grasses cease waving…
wonderful how completely everything in wild nature fits in to us,
as if truly part and parents of us.
The sun shines not on us but in us.
The rivers flow not past us, but through us,
thrilling tingling vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance
of our bodies making them glide and sing.
